Don’t wait, get immediate relief for your dental emergencies – broken teeth, severe pain, and infections
If you suspect you need emergency dental care, don’t hesitate to contact Dentists at Clyde North. Whether you’re dealing with severe pain, swelling, or a dislodged tooth, immediate attention is often necessary. We are committed to providing compassionate, attentive care, addressing your needs promptly to halt any infections.
For emergency dental services, we’re only a phone call away.
A knocked-out tooth needs to be re-implanted into its socket immediately. Do so carefully by avoiding handling the tooth root, so you can protect the fibres around the root surface. If possible, try to place the tooth back into the socket and splint it in place with silver paper. If this is not possible, place the tooth on one side of your mouth between your teeth and cheeks.
If you cannot put your tooth back into its socket or back into your mouth, DO NOT place the tooth in water – instead, place it in cold milk. Contact our dentists at Clyde North immediately to arrange an emergency appointment and bring the tooth with you.
Signs to look out for include swelling around the site of the broken tooth and nearby tissue, throbbing pain and sometimes a fever. If you do have an infection, it is important to drain it if possible and remove the source of infection (for example, a badly broken and decayed tooth). Antibiotics may be required in some cases. Please call the practice immediately to schedule an emergency appointment if you think you have a tooth infection.
At Clyde North Dental, our mission is to provide access to dental care for both the local Melbourne community and beyond. We accept all health funds and can also assist with payment plans using external financing options.
