Depend on Clyde North Dental for

The Gold Standard in Tooth Replacement

Dental implants are a versatile, long-lasting and natural-looking solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth that can be tailored to your needs, here at your local dental clinic at Clyde North. Made of Titanium, one of the most bio-compatible materials available, a dental implant becomes embedded in your jaw, just like a real tooth root. This stimulates the health of the bone to prevent atrophy and shrinkage which can lead to further tooth loss and sunken facial features that can make you appear older than your years.

An implant can be topped with a crown customised to match the surrounding teeth, while a bridge supported by multiple implants will have greater stability. There are many advantages to implant-retained full or partial dentures, and full-arch implants will restore full function and a natural appearance.

Everything you need to know about Dental Implants

A Single Implant is straightforward

It consists of a bio-compatible Titanium screw, which your body responds to as though it’s a natural tooth root once we embedded it into your jawbone. Your implant is positioned with a high degree of accuracy by guided surgery, using 3D printed CT scans, all in the comfort of your local clinic. We’ll discuss your preference for sedation in advance of your procedure so that you remain fully relaxed.

You’ll need to allow several months for the healing process, while your jawbone and gums grow around the implants, just like a natural tooth. Abutments, which are metal connectors, can then be fitted. We take a mould of your mouth to custom-craft a crown for each implant that will blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. Once complete, you’ll be able to return to chewing as your normally would, and smile with confidence.

Multiple Implant Clyde North

Multiple Dental Implants

If injury has caused displaced or severely damaged several of your teeth, or you suffer from extensive decay, Multiple Dental Implants can restore your sense of self-esteem and quality of life. The implants are anchored to your mouth, so there’s no need to worry about ill-fitting dentures, gum irritation, trapped food which can lead to further decay and disease, or tender pressure points in your mouth. Your missing teeth can be replaced with multiple, individual crowns, or a bridge with multiple crowns for a row of teeth.

Full Mouth Implants

Full Arch Implants

Full Mouth Implants

For a long-lasting smile that lacks nothing, Full Arch Implants are a more convenient and less invasive solution than conventional rehabilitation techniques. Completed within a few days, the procedure may significantly reduce your wait time for a new set of teeth. It may be your only option if your jawbone has diminished too greatly to support multiple implants and the end result will look, feel and chew just like your natural teeth.

In a relatively simple procedure, under local anaesthetic in our dental chair, we position 4 implants to support a fixed bridge that will permanently replace all of the teeth in your upper and/or lower dental arches. To work around your bone loss, two regular implants are supported by two tilted implants anchored in the denser bone of other parts of your jaw. Once in place, Full Arch Implants are far more manageable for the long term than dentures.

Versatility is a Big Part of What Makes

Dental Implants Gold Standard

The technique we use for Dental Implants is a major advancement in tooth replacement. The best part is, there’s no need to grind down the healthy teeth to either side of an implant, as is often required to fit a bridge, so the quality of your remaining teeth remains intact. This means less risk of future complications with weakened teeth which are more vulnerable to structural damage and decay.

Your implants can be easily modified over the course of your life. So, while you may only require a Single Implant with a dental crown now, this can be adapted to support a bridge or denture if you have further tooth extractions down the track. Cleaning your teeth is simple with implants, which you can easily floss between.

Single Dental Implants

You Stand to Lose More Without Them

Dental Implants Clyde North

Permanently replace individual missing teeth to fully restore your natural smile while stimulating the bone health of your jaw, with Single Dental Implants. If you put off closing the gap left by just one tooth that’s been extracted or has fallen out, you risk a domino-effect of tooth loss as the unsupported teeth to either side begin to tilt and shift. The movement may damage your gums and jawbone too. Without intervention this can lead to speech problems, chewing difficulties, deterioration of jawbones which can be apparent by sunken cheeks and lips that make you appear older than you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

A comfortable, durable and long-lasting solution for replacing a lost tooth or teeth, Dental Implants represent a range of practical benefits including:

  • Renewing your enjoyment of everyday life by restoring your ability to chew the foods you like and speak without impediment
  • Supporting your facial structure to preserve a more youthful appearance
  • Stimulation of your jawbone for strengthening and health, which can atrophy as a result of missing teeth and lead to a domino effect of tooth loss
  • Reducing your risk of gum disease and infection
  • Fully restoring the appearance of your natural smile, and your self-esteem along with it
A certain amount of bone is required to provide a strong foundation for implants, but all is not lost if your bone is too shrunken. We can use bone grafting or augmentation procedures to supplement your existing base for anchoring the implants.
Keep up good oral hygiene just as you would with your natural teeth and your implants may last from 15 years to a lifetime.
This will vary depending on your individual case and the type of Dental Implants you have chosen. For a single Dental Implant your treatment may be complete within two visits, while for complicated cases a series of surgeries and visits spanning several months will be necessary, to allow for several stages of implanting and fittings with healing time in between.
